Mississippi Squirrel Revival

Opener Sides Face Grand Square

When I was a kid Id Take Trip Every Summer down to Mississip and visit my Granny in her Antebellum world  Well I'd run barefoot all day long, just climbing trees as free as a song, and one day I happened to catch myself a squirrel

Allemande and Weave

Well I stuffed him down in an old shoe box, poked a couple of holes in the top, then Sunday came, I snuck him into Church, Well I was way back in the Amen Pugh showing him go my good buddy Hugh, When the Squirrel got loose and went totally berserk.

Figure;

Head two couple promenade half way round the ring I said down the middle and do a full square thru, That's four. Four hands around in the middle and then do the right and left thru and the couples circulate.  Halftag Scoot back swing the corner lady round and then keep here and  all promenade.  It was a fight for survival that broke out in revival they were jumping Pugh's and shouting halleluiah

Middle Break - Sides Face Grand Square

As the choir sang I surrender all that squirrel ran up Harve Newtons coveralls, Harve jumped to his feet and said something got a hold on me. Harve hit the isle just dancing' and screaming'  Some thought he had religion others thought he had a demon, Harve thought he had a weed eater in his pants

The day Squirrel went berserk in the First Self Righteous Church in that sleepy little town of Pascagoula.  It was a fight for survival that broke out in revival they were jumping Pugh's and shouting halleluiah

Closer  - Sides Face Grand Square

Well 7 Deacons and  the Pastor got saved and 25 Thousand Dollars got raised and 50 volunteered for missions in the Congo. And so much as an invitation, there were at least 500 re-dedications, and we all got re-baptized whether we needed it or not

Allemande and Weave,

But the thing I'll remember till my dieing days is how we got that Church back on the narrow way with a crazed little Mississippi Squirrel.  It was a fight for survival that broke out in revival they were jumping Pugh's and shouting halleluiah  - jumping Pugh's and shouting halleluiah
